Valentines Day is making its way
Valentines day sure is making its way quickly over here. We've got harts on the windows, cards on the table and lots of baking ideas rumbling around in our heads. Since Valentines day isn't quite as stressful as Christmas we've decided to get what we can get to and do a project everyday. We're almost complete with cards for the grandparents. We'll be sewing a few pretty little things for cousins and aunts. And all I've had to do is cut out a few hearts and the little rascal is on her way with glitter and glue, I haven't had this much fun making STUFF in a long time.

Kids Craft Weekly

I came across a wonderful site, Kids Craft Weekly. Amber Caravan, editor and founder, has agreed to participate in creative little hands. As we all know, the days can get quite busy with kids and sometimes you just don't have time to think and search for creative ideas. In order to help make creative little hands successful I asked Amber if she would mind contributing some of her crafty ideas to bebestages. So, I hope you all enjoy this weeks creative little hands contribution.

Creative Little Hands is today! Halloween Spider
MATERIALS:
Pipe cleaners
Four-hole buttons
Stick-on googly eyes
Synthetic spider web
Double-sided tape

1. Bend a pipe cleaner into a V shape. Push the base of the V up through one of the buttonholes until it protrudes 1/2 inch. Then, bend the 1/2-inch length over the top of the button. Use the same method to thread the three other pipe cleaners through the remaining buttonholes.

2. Next, shape the legs (there should be eight, of course!) by bending the pipe cleaner ends first 1 inch from the button and then again 1/4 inch from the tips. Stick the googly eyes onto the button between the front legs.

Crafty mama here we come!
I can't express how much I L-O-V-E handmade items. There's nothing like seeing a finished product that you know took hours to create. I'm famous for starting projects and not finishing them, but I've made a promise, I will finish this no matter what. I've decided to make quilts for Paige and Rylan. This will be my special fall project which I'm hoping to get finished by end of October. I want something my girls will have forever and have memories of it as they grow older. Unfortunately my mom was never crafty for I've never had that experience, and maybe that is why I am so determined to do this.
Here are the ballarinas for Paige

Here is the big sister and little sister for Rylan

Potatoe stamping
An adult will need to cut out the potato stamp, but children can have great fun with these.

You will need:

* Potato
* Sharp knife
* Paint
* Paper
* A shallow dish

directions:
Wash the potato and cut it in half. On the cut face of the potato, use the knife to carve a simple shape (e.g a star). Cut away the potato surrounding the shape, so that the shape protrudes about 1/2 and inch. Children can now use this shape as a stamp. Put the paint in a shallow dish, so they can soak the "stamp" with paint.
